Washington Mystics (+185) at Dallas Wings (-5) | O/U 172 (-110/-110)
Satou Sabally has hit or surpassed the 20-point mark in 4-of-7 games since returning to Dallas following her return from Team Germany. In two of the three games she failed to reach 20, she finished with 18 and 19 points so she is one basket and one free throw away from being 6-1 against this number. Sabally has not played fewer than 36 minutes in a game since her return and no fewer than 37 in her last three. Two of her three Unders came against Minnesota and New York, the league’s second and third-ranked scoring defenses. Washington’s scoring defense (83.4) is 8th in the W so Sabally should have no problem dropping 20.
Ariel Atkins has cashed this number in four of her last five games, finishing with exactly 15 points in each of her last two games and three of four overall. Dallas possesses the worst scoring defense (90.7) in the W so expecting anyone to hit their Overs against them is a smart bet. I’m a big fan of what Latricia Trammell has got the Wings doing offensively as a basketball fan. Trammell cut her teeth as a WNBA assistant with the Sparks where she was ironically known for her defensive prowess so there should be brighter defensive days ahead for the Wings. That being said, I am a big fan at the bettor’s window of how defensively challenged the Wings are.
WNBA Pick: Satou Sabally 20+ Points (-115), Ariel Atkins 15+ Points (-115)
Parlay Odds: +198
