Ahead of the 56th edition of the Super Bowl, known as LVI, Los Angeles is bringing back the heat promising a showdown for the ages between the hard-headed Rams armed with Matthew Stafford, and the cigar-swaggering Joe Burrow with his pack of bobcats, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Only two days away from the big day, we’re bringing you all the live updates, latest news and everything you need to know before getting ready for the wild matchup. And because this is one of the more exciting and unpredictable Super Bowl matches in over a decade, we’ve decided to compile a few fun facts about each team right here for you, along with a fun video made by our very own Jennifer Bubel

Bengals break 30-year playoff-losing streak with Super Bowl appearance

The Bengals will be playing in their third Super Bowl, losing their previous two appearances in 1981 and 1988. Cincinnati is one of five franchises to play in multiple Super Bowls without ever winning (Buffalo and Minnesota- 4, Atlanta and Carolina – 2).

Having won just six games in the 2019 and 2020 seasons combined (6-25-1), Cincinnati has had the fewest wins in the previous two seasons before making a Super Bowl appearance.

Former LSU teammates Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have never lost a postseason game together (2-0 in college, 3-0 in the NFL), redefining what a bomb-duo looks like in the NFL.

Burrow Cool is playing in the Super Bowl just two years after winning the National Championship with LSU. He’s about to become the fourth quarterback to win a consensus college national title as a quarterback and then go on to play in a Super Bowl, joining Cam Newton, Joe Namath, and Joe Montana. That’s three Joes for you. The 25-year-old was sacked 51 times in the regular season, the most of any quarterback.

Ja’Marr Chase also has the most combined regular-season and postseason yards gained by a receiver on a pass play by a rookie in NFL history (1,734).

Rams seeking their first Super Bowl win in Los Angeles

Los Angeles was in the Super Bowl just three years ago (with a 13-3 loss to the Patriots), but only five of the 22 players who started in that game are still on the team: Tyler Higbee, Andrew Whitworth, Rob Havenstein, Robert Woods (on injured reserve since Nov. 24 with a torn ACL) and Aaron Donald.

Matthew Stafford has played in 188 career games, including the postseason. The quarterback with the most games in his career before his first Super Bowl was Johnny Unitas, who appeared in 191 games before Super Bowl V.

Stafford, 33, set career highs in completion percentage (67.2) and passing touchdowns (41) this year. Only Tom Brady (43) threw more TDs in the history of the league.
