Sunday’s Best WNBA Picks

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Brittney Sikes Under 13.5 Points (-132)

Washington faces a hounding Minnesota defense that appears to be locked in for the playoffs. Since the break, the Lynx have only lost one game, and currently own the third-highest defensive rating in the league.

To put it bluntly, Brittney Sikes simply isn’t receiving the type of consistent playing time that would warrant a productive point result against such a formidable defensive opponent. Over the last four games, the Washington guard is averaging 22.5 minutes, and an abysmal 8.75 points.

In two previous matchups against the Lynx this season, Sikes scored at combined total of 18 points on 29%  shooting from the field, and one three-pointer.

Caitlin Clark Over 19.5 Points (-115)

The Indiana Fever have only taken two losses since returning from the Olympic break, and today they face an Atlanta team hungry to claim the last vacant playoff spot. The clear favorite for the Rookie of the Year will have an opportunity to build on what has already been a historic maiden voyage into the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark has scored 20 points or more in five straight games; 8-of-10 going back even further. The Indiana guard has hit a new gear towards the end of the season, improving her scoring per game to 19.0 points.

Clark has successfully knocked down 22 three-pointers in five games. This afternoon she faces an Atlanta team who allow just under eight three-pointers per game. At home, the Indiana guard is averaging 20.2 points on 43.6% shooting from the field.

 Betnijah Laney-Hamilton Over 10.5 Points (-110)

Betnijah Laney-Hamilton will get a taste of home cooking today, an environment where she has normally thrived. Scoring productivity, as well as efficiency, improve across the board, including an 8.3 positive differential in field-goal percentage when playing at Barclays.

This may not be the best spot though. On the season, the Aces are conceding just under 82 points per game on 43.4% shooting, with eight three-pointers per game. Yet, when on the road those numbers decrease to 42.6% and 81.6 points. Over the last five games, Las Vegas has put on a stifling display of defense. Opponents are being held to 76.4 points and only 6.8 three-pointers made.

Since returning from injury, Laney-Hamilton has only cleared this point total in one contest. It’s a low number for a player who will more than likely be on the court for 30 minutes plus, however, we feel the New York guard may fall just short of exceeding 10.5 points.

Satou Sabally Over 18.5 Points (-108)

The Dallas forward has hit the ground running since returning from injury on August 18. In nine games, Satou Sabally is averaging 19.1 points on 45% shooting from the field, while on the floor for over 36 minutes each contest.

Chicago is set to be without the services of their record-setting rookie, Angel Reese, who will miss the remainder of the season with a wrist injury. This adds a bit more length to the Sky defense, with Isabelle Harrison most likely being implemented into the starting lineup. However, that shouldn’t deter Sabally, who can dominate from beyond the perimeter if given space.

Over the last five games, Chicago is allowing an average of over 84 points and 7.8 three-pointers per contest. Sabally is hitting 2.9 three-pointers at a 50% clip this season and should have a prominent scoring role against a struggling Sky team that just lost one of their best players.

DiJonai Carrington Over 12.5 Points (-130)

DiJonai Carrington will look to bounce back against the Sparks after two disappointing offensive performances. Before those contests, the Baylor standout was averaging 15.75 points over a four-game stretch.

The Sparks are allowing over 86 points on the season on 46% shooting from the field, along with 8.1 three-pointers on 37% shooting; the highest in the WNBA. Carrington’s strong defensive prowess should also benefit from the 16.9 points allowed off of turnovers.

The Connecticut guard appears to be in a fantastic spot against a lowly Los Angeles team that is allowing an average of 93.2 points to the opposition over the last five games. We expect Carrington to take full advantage of that in this one and exceed this 12.5-point total.

Enjoy the games today, and good luck with your picks!
